Sky Sports reveal that Arsenal confident of signing Kieran Tierney before transfer deadline

Unai Emery

Arsenal are looking to make a final push to sign Celtic left back Kieran Tierney after their initial bids were rejected, according to reports in Sky Sports.

The report states that the North London club are confident that they can get their man before transfer deadline on August 8th.

The Emirates club had made a £25m bid that was rejected because of the way it was structured and they now will be coming back with a revised offer.

Arsenal were not offering enough money upfront and that was a deal breaker as far as Celtic were concerned. And the add-ons that the club had proposed were also dependent on them qualifying for the Champions League. This kind of offer was rejected by the Scottish Champions.

Tierney is a player that has been identified by the club as someone who can solve their defensive issues and that is why they have been chasing him all summer. If they can get the deal done before deadline day, it would be a great signing and add to the already fantastic window that the Gunners are having.

He would become the fifth transfer that Arsenal will have made this summer and be the second player to be brought in for the defense. With new signing William Saliba set to spend a season away on loan, the potential signing of Tierney has taken on a real sense of urgency.

Tierney has what it takes to lock down the left hand side of the Arsenal defense for many years to come. Although Sead Kolasinac has proven himself to be a great attacking presence, his defensive work can be found wanting at times.

This is an area where the Scot is much more assured as he brings a sense of calmness to the way he defends. The transfer window closes very soon so the final offer from the Gunners will have to be made as soon as possible to be successful.

Arsenal want Tierney to come to the Emirates and all that is remaining is for them to restructure the way the fee will be paid. The fans will be hoping that they will get to see the talented defender in the red and white very soon.

Journalist claims Arsenal have already offered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a new contract

Aubameyang

Arsenal are getting ready to offer their star strikers a new an improved deal, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.

The North London club have offered improved contracts to both their front men. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been offered a new one year extension and will be given more than the £180,000-a-week his is earning currently.

His strike partner Alexnadre Lacazette will be offered a new deal with the same duration. Giulianelli said on his Twitter account:

Aubameyang and Lacazette both offered 1 year extensions to their deal this week too with improved wages.’

This is good news for the fans as well as the club as these two players have become a very important part of the squad. Aubameyang finished as the top scorer last season as he ended up with 31 goals in all competitions.

Lacazette on the other hand impressed with his creativity along with his goal scoring. At the end of the season, he was chosen by the fans as the Arsenal player of the season.

The Emirates club have had problems with star players and their contracts so it a nice change of pace to see them try to solve this at an early stage. The most famous recent examples of this would be the situations that surrounded the contracts of Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez.

Ramsey leaving on a free transfer must have been a real lesson for the board as they realized that they need to change their ways or the club was going to be affected. Offering the strikers a new deal is a way of showing that the club appreciates their service.

Arsenal go into the new season with a real sense of optimism that they can get back into the Champions League. The signings of Dani Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe in particular has brought a sense of goodwill back to the club.

And when you add strikers like Lacazette and Aubameyang to that, there is a real chance that the Gunners will be able to achieve their targets for the season. Both the front men will play a very crucial role in the fortunes of the club. It is better for the club to sort out their contract soon and it seems that they have learnt from their previous mistakes.

Arsenal respond to reports of interest in Philippe Coutinho

Unai Emery

In the last couple of days, there have been reports linking Arsenal with a loan deal for Barcelona’s Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho.

But according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, the London club has denied that there is an agreement in place to bring the player to the Emirates.

The North London club it seems have categorically denied that this deal is happening but the publication also made it known that the Gunners had not refused their interest in Coutinho.

They also go on to say that the most likely destination for Coutinho if he were to leave would be France in the form of PSG. He could be used as a makeweight in the deal to bring Neymar back to Barcelona and is thought to be one of the players that the Catalans are offering in exchange for Neymar.

If Arsenal were to somehow actually go and get Coutinho, it would be quite an interesting deal. He is not really the type of player that the club needs at this point but there is no doubt that he will be able to add a lot to the squad. The fact that he has already proven himself in the Premier League would mean that he will fit in at the Emirates seamlessly.

The Gunners play Barcelona today in the final of the Joan Gamper Cup. If they are serious about a move for the Brazilian, this would be the best time to get the deal across the line. Of course, it remains to be seen how they will be able to find the finances needed to secure a deal for Coutinho.

The most plausible scenario is that if Coutinho were to join the Gunners, there is every chance that the London club could be selling one of their attackers. This will give them the funds to sign the Brazilian but also free up some space in the squad that will be needed to accommodate him.

We are not very far away from the deadline of the transfer window so Arsenal will have to be quick. The pre season game against Barcelona presents the perfect opportunity to put their case forward and convince the Brazilian to join them.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery takes Eddie Nketiah decision after record Pepe signing

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has had an impressive pre-season and it seems that has changed Unai Emery’s view on the youngster.

According to reports in Sun, the young striker was apparently on his way out of the club on a loan deal to Championship side Bristol City.

However, with Welbeck leaving the club at the end of the season, the 20-year-old moved up the pecking order but with Arsenal completing Nicolas Pepe signing for a record sum of £65m it again looked that the youngster was pushed down again.

The striker is unlikely to replace Aubameyang or Lacazette for a starting spot, but the report in Sun states that Unai Emery wants to keep him at the club.

The 20-year-old has been one of the standout players for the Gunners in the pre season so far and it was thought that he would be getting more chances this season, until Pepe was on-board.

Nketiah has always been a player that gets on the score-sheet and his scoring record for the youth teams is proof of that. He managed to score his first Premier League goal last season in the final game away to Burnley as well.

Now with the North London club having brought in a player like Pepe, he is going to have to think about his future. Nketiah is at an age where he needs to play on a regular basis or else his development is really going to suffer.

If he is going to get that experience away from the Emirates, then he will have to make a decision now. Perhaps the youngster could really benefit from a stint in the second division as it is going to make him into a more rounded player.

After the way he played in the pre season games, fans will have been excited to see him do that for the first team but the club may have different plans keeping his development in mind.

There is no doubt that Nketiah is one of the most exciting players to come out of the Arsenal academy and it will be great to see him succeed at the highest level. He is at a crucial time in his career and it will be interesting to see how it develops.

Bordeaux officials fly into London to seal transfer deal for Arsenal defender

Koscielny

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny who refused to travel with the club on their pre-season tour could finally be on his way out the club.

According to reports in the Express officials from the French club Bordeaux flew into London discuss a transfer with the North London club.

Eduardo Macia, the head of recruitment also hinted at this when he said(as per L’Equipe):

‘Laurent Koscielny? Of course, if the opportunity were there, we would love to have him come.

‘He’s a leader, a smart defender and one of the best defenders I’ve seen in my career.’

After spending almost a decade in London, the Frenchman feels that it is time for him to return to his native country. His desire to go back was so strong that he didn’t go for the pre season tour to force a move.

If the Gunners are receiving offers for the center back, they should make it a point to listen to them. There is no point in trying to keep a player who is so keen on leaving the club. And when it is someone like the captain who feels this way, there is no reason to not let them move away.

The latter part of his Arsenal career has been characterized by a never say die attitude that many have found to be inspirational. He overcame a serious injury that he suffered in the 2018 Europa League semifinals and went on to play an important role in the 2018/19 season.

It seemed like his career at the highest level was done but Koscielny showed what a fighter he is and came roaring back with a string of impressive performances. Perhaps he feels that his service to the club gives him the right to walk away when he sees fit.

But no matter the legitimacy of his feelings, the way he acted upon them could be described as being a little unprofessional especially since he is the captain.

It is in the best interests of the club and the player if they can resolve this situation as quick as possible. The Gunners need to go into the new season with a clear mindset and having this kind of a issue will not sit well with the squad. Arsenal have a decision on their hands about Koscielny and there could be a resolution very soon.

Arsenal to table transfer offer to finally complete signing of Kieran Tierney

Unai Emery

Arsenal have been after Celtic left back Kieran Tierney for almost the entirety of the transfer window without any success.

However, all their efforts could prove to be fruitful as the North London club are all set to make a third bid over the weekend, according to reports in Express.

The report further states that with this bid, the Emirates club expect to be successful after having two bids already being rejected by the Scottish club. The Gunners were able to match the £25m valuation that Celtic that put on Tierney but there was a problem in the way that the London club had structured the fee to be paid.

Celtic wanted a larger portion of the fee to be paid upfront and that was the factor preventing a move from happening. But Arsenal have reportedly understood that if they do not restructure their fee for Tierney, it will not be possible to get hold of the Scot.

So, they have decided to give more money upfront and that should be enough to seal the deal in favor of the Unai Emery’s side.

He is one player that has been identified by Gunners manager Unai Emery who will be happy knowing that Tierney could very well be on his way to the Emirates. Arsenal’s defense has been one of their weakest areas and it is encouraging to see the club take measures to improve this.

Tierney would be a fantastic addition to the Arsenal team as he has proven himself to be a fine left back over a number of seasons. Apart from this, he can also play in the center of defense and that is sure to have played a role in determining the interest of the Gunners.

Arsenal have been making serious strides in the transfer window in the recent weeks with the addition of players such as Dani Ceballos and club record signing Nicolas Pepe. With William Saliba set to join next year the future does look very bright.

And what would make this even better is the addition of someone like Tierney who can lock down the left side of the Gunners defense for years to come. There isn’t much time left in the transfer window so it would be nice if the club submitted that third bid quickly.

Arsenal transfer chiefs to discuss deal for Coutinho with Spanish club

Predicted Arsenal Line-up

Arsenal will be taking on Barcelona in the final of the Joan Gamper trophy on the 4th of August and it seems some transfer discussions might also take place on the same day.

And as per the latest reports in Express, Arsenal officials and specifically Head of Football Raul Sanllehi would be meeting people from the Spanish club to discuss a loan move for Philippe Coutinho.

Spanish publication Sport are claiming that the Catalans are looking at sending the Brazilian on loan and the Premier League is the most likeliest destination.

But as per Express, if the North London club were to get Coutinho on a loan deal, they will have to part with a sizable fee and Barcelona want that to provide cover for the installments that they owe Liverpool. And with the club visiting Barcelona, it could potentially give them an advantage over their Premier League rivals.

It is also difficult to see where the Emirates club would be able to find the money for Coutinho after they just recently spent a club record £72m on winger Nicolas Pepe. Unai Emery’s side had a limited budget to begin with so it would be hard for them to muster the funds needed to bring the Brazilian.

The Gunners have also been looking at bringing in Kieran Tierney from Celtic and if they were to do that, it is an indication that they do not have enough money to give Barca. With the signings of players such as Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann, the first team chances for Coutinho would have decreased significantly.

He may be thinking that he needs to go elsewhere if he is to play more football and might be considering a return to familiar surroundings. Coutinho has already proven himself in the Premier League and he would not require any time to adjust to it.

Though the deal looks a little unlikely at this point, anything can happen between now and the end of the transfer window. One thing for sure is that the Gunners will be getting a great player in Coutinho and he will surely boost the overall quality of the squad.

We still have a few days in the window so all we can do now is wait and watch to see what Arsenal end up doing.

Arsenal get response after launching transfer offer for Daniele Rugani

Arsenal have launched a bid to sign Italian center back Daniele Rugani on a loan deal but as per the latest reports in Metro, Juventus have rejected this offer from the Gunners.

The North London club tabled an offer of a two-year loan deal with an option to buy, however the Italian club have refused the deal due to injury problems that captain Giorgio Chiellini is facing at the moment.

Thus, they are not very comfortable letting go of someone who would be used as cover for the captain.

The Gunners have shifted their focus to the center of defense after they splashed a club record £72m on winger Nicolas Pepe who recently joined Arsenal from French club Lille.

Those at the Emirates seems to have realized that the defense needs to be looked at as well and are hence in the market for Rugani for whom they offered a two-year loan deal.

The need for a new center back has increased due to the situation that is going on around captain Laurent Koscielny. He is trying to move back to France and is most likely not going to play another game for the London club.

Apart from this the Gunners are also looking at moving on Shkodran Mustafi who has proven to be too error prone in his stint at the Emirates. And with Rob Holding slowly making his way back from a long-term injury, the club feels that another center back is required at the club.

Arsenal did sign William Saliba from Saint Etienne but the talented youngster will be sent back on loan to France so the Gunners need someone who can play for the club now. In this regard Rugani seemed liked the right fit.

His chances for playing in the Juventus defense would have reduced after they splashed the cash of former Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt. And if not for the injury problems that Chiellini has, he could well have been on his way to the Emirates.

The deadline for the transfer window is the 8th of August which isn’t very far away. If the Gunners are to make any kind of move, it will have to be done quickly. There is already a lot of optimism going into the new season and adding a new player like Rugani would have certainly increased that.

Huge injury boost for Arsenal as star duo return to full training ahead of Barcelona game

Lucas Torreira

Arsenal are all set to play Barcelona in the final of the Joan Gamper trophy on Sunday and they are set to get some welcome news in the form of two returning stars, according to reports in Evening Standard.

Lucas Torreira hasn’t featured this pre-season after the midfielder took an extended break following Uruguay’s exit at the Copa America, but has returned to the club and trained this week.

Along with the midfielder, striker Alexandre Lacazette has also returned to training after he injured his ankle in the Emirates Cup game against Lyon.

The return of the striker is especially important for manager Unai Emery as he has become one of the most important members of the squad. He is expected to be fit for the first Premier League game of the season against Newcastle United which will kick off on the 11th of August.

Torreira was a crucial player for his national team and played a big part in their Copa America campaign. As a result of this, the midfield dynamo was given an extended break and now he is line to make his first appearance in pre-season for Arsenal.

These two will be crucial in the season going forward as they will probably be one of the first names that make it to the team sheets.

Torreira joined the Gunners in the summer of 2018 and quickly went on to establish himself as one of the signings of the year. Though his form somewhat tailed off to the end of the season, he was still one of the best players on the pitch for Arsenal.

This was expected given that he was used to having a winter break which does not happen in the Premier League. Lacazette on the other hand went on to be named as the player of the season by the fans due to his all round play that saw him notch up quite a few goals and assists as well.

It is great news for Arsenal that these two have made a return to training as it means that Emery does not have to make a lot of changes to his plans. Fans will be hoping that these two players will push the Gunners into a top four spot at the end of the season.

£9.5m transfer fee, 5-year deal: Arsenal officially announce 21-year-old has left the club

Unai Emery

Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik has completed his transfer move to Championship club Derby County, the club has officially confirmed .

The Guardian are reporting that the Rams have parted with a sum of -yea which is a club record for them. This eclipses the £8m that they paid in 2016 for striker Matej Vydra.

Bielik goes to the Championship on the back of a highly impressive 2018/19 season on loan at Charlton Athletic. He was one of the best players for a Charlton side that ended up getting promoted to the Championship from League One.

This was in large part due to the versatility and quality of performances that Bielik was able to put up. He can play in midfield as well as the center of defense and this was one of the reasons that made Derby splash the cash on him.

It would have been difficult for the Polish player to get chances for the Arsenal first team and that may have played a part in his decision. His path at the Emirates was blocked by several senior players whether it was the midfield or the defense.

And he is at an age where he needs to be play first team football on a regular basis. This is something that Derby will be able to offer him and it is perhaps why he chose to go there.

Speaking on the transfer of Bielik, Derby manager Phillip Cocu said:

‘He will get better and develop, but for his age he is a very good player.’

This goes to show just how highly rated the youngster is and the fact that Derby are willing to pay a record sum is proof of how much they wanted him. It also benefits the Gunners that they have been able to get quite a good fee for the youngster.

This will boost their transfer budget and help them make other signings. Under different circumstances Bielik could have become a regular at Arsenal but this was not to be the case.

Everyone associated with the Emirates club will want him to become a great player for Derby and it will be interesting to see how his career pans out. Arsenal on the other hand will now have to focus on how to use the funds gained from the sale of Bielik.
