Arsenal Team News against Tottenham: Timber, Martinelli

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal are still in the run for the Premier League title and Tottenham will be keen to derail their ambitions, so let’s look at the latest team news.

Despite Manchester City beating Brighton during the week, the Gunners are still on top although the Blues have a game in hand. The north London side will have some tough time against Spurs who can hurt any team in the league.

There is a lot of good news for Mike Arteta with Jurrien Timber being very close to returning to the fold. There is a chance that the Dutchman might come off the bench on Sunday and that would mean a lot to the club and the fans.

There could be some rotation seen at the weekend as Arteta looks to find a solution to overcome the tactics of Ange Postecoglou. This could see someone like Gabriel Martinelli start and Leandro Trossard moving to the bench.

Arsenal Fever View:

The Gunners dropped points at the Emirates last year but they will regret not taking full points in that game. It would have also given Arteta an idea of the kind of threat the hosts possess, especially on the counter.

That will be the danger once again as Spurs like to play a high-risk high-reward style that has often benefited them. The likes of Timo Werner, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski are players with real capability that can hurt the visitors.

For the north Londoners, it is all about keeping calm and trusting their approach and the system that has worked so well for them. When a team likes to press so high and look to turnover the ball frequently, it will open spaces that can be exploited.

The one thing that Arteta would want from his players is to take their chances as and when they come. If the league leaders are not clinical then that is surely going to hurt them and as a consequence of that, City will move ahead in the table.

Arsenal have to win all their remaining games as Pep Guardiola’s men don’t look like they are going to stop any time soon. The Gunners can only do their bit and hope that other results go their way. A win on Sunday will give them a lot of confidence in their own chances.
