Arsenal Predicted Lineup

Arsenal welcome Newcastle United after a nervy win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend which has pushed them seven points ahead at the top, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.

Though the Gunners won 4-2, there were a lot of moments that would have worried Mikel Arteta. The manager would want to see his team control the game a lot more and that is going to be tough against the Magpies.

In goal, Aaron Ramsdale will have a tough time keeping the likes of Miguel Almiron quiet. Given how much Arteta likes to control the game, the full backs pick themselves. Ben White and Alex Zinchenko should start on both flanks.

William Saliba hasn’t looked his usual self in the last two games but the Frenchman’s ability on the ball and strength will be crucial. Along with him, the dependable presence of Gabriel will provide some level of security.

Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are once again going to be at the centre of the midfield. Both players have an important role to play in ensuring that the visiting players do not get to run at the defence. If that is prevented, it increases the north Londoners’ chances of winning.

Further ahead, the three attackers pick themselves and they are in great form to boot. Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli have found their scoring touch which bodes well for the hosts. These three with their tendency to stretch the game are going to be important in breaking down the Newcastle defence.

Eddie Nketiah has scored in the last two games and that is great news for the Gunners who would have been worried about the absence of Gabriel Jesus. The forward has shown a real ability to press the opposition defence.

Arsenal have a great opportunity to put some daylight between them and the rest of the chasing pack. Beating Newcastle will not be easy, but this group of players have shown that they have what it takes to get the results needed. It promises to be a fascinating encounter between two teams setting the pace.
