Arsenal have their final Europa League group game on Thursday as they get ready to host FC Zurich at the Emirates, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners got back to winning ways at the weekend as they comfortably beat Nottingham Forest 5-0. That should give the players a lot of confidence ahead of the midweek fixture as it gives them a chance to finish on top of the group.
If Matt Turner is not declared fit, Aaron Ramsdale will be in goal once again. Kieran Tierney will start on the left flank with Takehiro Tomiyasu on the right. This will allow Ben White to rest ahead of the important clash against Chelsea.
Rob Holding should be starting this match along with Gabriel as Arteta goes for the more experienced option at centre back. The defence was a bit of a let-down at PSV, so they need to be more vigilant this time round.
The return of Mohamed Elneny to training is great news for the north Londoners as it means that Thomas Partey can be rested. The Egyptian should start alongside Granit Xhaka and their experience in the middle will be crucial in getting the three points.
Given that Bukayo Saka had to be substituted on Sunday, it means that Reiss Nelson will get a chance to play from the start. The winger got a brace against Forest and will be looking to add more goals. Gabriel Martinelli will be on the left wing with Fabio Vieira through the middle.
Eddie Nketiah will get a start which would see Gabriel Jesus be given a rest. The Englishman has just not been found the back of the net despite playing well. But given his talent and work rate, the goals should start flowing soon.
Arsenal have put themselves in a tricky situation after the defeat to PSV as they need to get a win to confirm first place in the group. Arteta will be hoping that the Gunners can play with a little more focus than last week. Despite the situation, the hosts should emerge with the three points.
