Arsenal will return to Premier League action after the final international break of the season as they travel to Selhurst Park, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners go into the business end of this campaign full of confidence as they are in pole position to finish in the top four. They must ensure that the advantage is not lost as other teams can catch up in quick time.
Aaron Ramsdale remains a doubt for this week, and it could see Bernd Leno get another chance in goal. There could finally be a return to the starting XI for Japanese full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu. On the left side, it is going to be the usual presence of Kieran Tierney.
The centre-back pairing of Ben White and Gabriel will not have it easy against Crystal Palace who have been impressive in attack. Keeping them at bay will be a challenge but these two have shown that they have what it takes.
In midfield, Arteta has the easy decision of selecting Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka as they have been the go-to choices. Their passing range and ability to help the defence will be needed when facing the Eagles.
The manager has a choice to make in the attack as he needs to choose between Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe. It could be the former given his explosiveness that could lead to more chances being created. The other two attackers will be Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
Leading the attack is going to be Alexandre Lacazette who would want to improve his goal-scoring record. If the Frenchman can do that, it gives the north Londoners a big boost in the final few games.
Arsenal know how difficult it is to beat Palace but a win here would mean so much to the team’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League. Arteta will be hoping that his attackers can click and take any opportunities that come their way. The signs are looking good, and it could be a happy trip to the south of London this Monday.
