Serie A chief confirms transfer interest in 28-year-old Arsenal star

Aaron Ramsey

Juventus sporting director Fabricio Paratici has confirmed that the Bianconeri are in the running to pursue the signature of Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal at the end of the campaign.

The Wales international has just six months remaining on his current deal with the Gunners and an extension is not expected with the hierarchy breaking down contract talks once and for all.

Amidst this, the 28-year-old has been associated with a number of clubs across Europe including Juventus and the Italian club’s sporing director Paratici has now acknowledged the interest.

He said: “Ramsey is a very good player who has been playing at a high level for many years and who plays for an important club. For now, that’s it.”

“He is a player whose contract is going to end and we always pay great attention to the situations offered by the transfer market because it is our duty, so we also pay attention to Ramsey.”

Ramsey has found himself regularly featuring from the bench during the course of the Premier League campaign but Emery has regularly cited that has nothing to do with his contract situation at the club.

Nonetheless, Emery would surely be planning for life after the Welshman, given the club have decided against rethinking over a renewal since rescinding their contract proposal back in September.

Despite this, Ramsey has generally been in good form for the Gunners whenever called upon to the field and he has contributed two goals and six assists in the 18 top-flight games. The Welshman could feature from the off when Arsenal begin their FA Cup campaign against Blackpool in the third round this weekend.
