Mkhitaryan spotted in London ahead of Arsenal medical

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Arsenal’s proposed move to Henrikh Mkhitaryan appears to be inching closer after the Armenian was spotted alongside his agent Mino Raiola in a hotel in central London.

The 28-year-old is seemingly close to agreeing a switch to Arsenal, according to BBC’s David Ornstein, and pictures have now emerged of the midfielder arriving in the English capital for a medical scheduled in the next 48 hours.

Earlier last week, Raiola hinted that the deal was still far off from completion with Mkhitaryan taking his time to sort out his future.

However, the Armenian seems content to join the Gunners, judging by the pictures, he is likely to finalise his move in the near future.

Mkhitaryan’s switch to Arsenal is set to coincide Alexis Sanchez’s departure to rivals Manchester United with the Chilean already deemed to have already reported for a medical, though the deal are likely to be coordinated to avoid any late confusion.

The former Borussia Dortmund man did not have the best of times working under Jose Mourinho, but he could have the freedom to excel with his excellent ball-playing capabilities which should suit Arsene Wenger’s style of play.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are making good strides to reunite Mkhitaryan with Borussia Dortmund marksman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it is suggested that the deal has been influenced by new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who recommended the pair first during his time at Signal Iduna Park.

Mkhitaryan made a brilliant beginning with United this term with five assists in just three league outings, and the Gunners’ faithful will hope that he can revive his lost form in the backend of the campaign.
