Huge injury boost for Arsenal ahead of Liverpool game, as midfielder confirms he’s back

Arsenal have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the Liverpool game with Aaron Ramsey expected to be fit for the Saturday night game, According to SUN.

The Welsh international suffered a calf injury during the North London club’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Watford on 31st of January and has been out of action since.

His absence has coincided with a slump in form, as the Gunners are more or less out of contention for the Premier League and Champions League after thrashing at the hands of Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

However, it looks as though Ramsey is set to make a return to action after the midfielder confirmed that he is now back in full training ahead of our trip to Anfield over the weekend.

Speaking to Sun, he said:

“I’m back training now so I hope to be available for selection very soon.”

Unless he suffers any last-minute setback, the midfielder will be in contention for a starting spot when the Gunners face Liverpool in few days time.

With Elneny ruled out for few weeks and Cazorla already out for the season, Wenger needs Ramsey to be available for the final stretch.

However, it won’t be so easy for Ramsey to directly come back into the starting line-up as Chamberlain has been impressive over the past few weeks and with Wenger persisting with Xhaka and Coquelin combo in the middle he will be restricted to the bench for a week or two at least.

Wenger also has a history of not rushing players into the starting line-up unless it’s an emergency, so the chance of Ramsey starting Saturday’s are minute.

We head to Merseyside just one place and one point above Liverpool so we desperately need a positive result to boost our Champions League qualification hopes.
