‘Shocking, He’s been awful’ – Fans bash Arsenal star after Liverpool draw

The Arsenal faithful were in for a roller coaster of emotions at the Emirates last night and the center of it all was none other than Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez.

From being 2 down just after halftime to netting back three goals in the next 10 minutes only for Liverpool to equalize through a James Milner shot from close range. Although the North London club’s performance was far from perfect the fans were especially critical of Alexis Sanchez and rightfully so.

He literally played like a man who had completely lost the plot. Uninspiring and lazy are only a few words that could describe his performance.

Breaks my heart to say this, but from what we saw it looked clear as a sky that the Chilean wanted nothing but a move away from the Emirates. It’s not the first time this season that Alexis Sanchez’s attitude has come under the scanner.

His dried up goal tally hasn’t helped him either and the Liverpool game looked like yet another nail in the coffin. The Chilean game last night seemed to prove the fans right. He held onto the ball longer than was needed, lost the ball at regular intervals, made terrible first touches and lacked vision throughout the game.

He looked like a wound up truck stuck in second gear. Even the final Liverpool equalizer could be traced back to when Sanchez lost the ball cheaply to Mohammed Salah.

Although the Gunners showed great character to come back into the game, much has to be done regarding our often nonexistent defense and consistency regarding our performances.

A move away from the Emirates might be imminent for Sanchez but that does not justify his poor string of performances for Arsenal. For a player of his talent, it is criminal of him to play the way he is playing right now.

It is not fair to the club, to his teammates nor the fans. Although it’s understandable if he wants to leave, but as long as he wears the Gunners jersey he has to play for the mighty badge and nothing less.
