Arsenal confident of finalising deal for Mkhitaryan

Arsenal are looking increasingly confident of completing a swap deal for Sanchez which could see Henrikh Mkhitaryan switch places with him at the Emirates.

A potential move to Old Trafford will see Alexis Sanchez become the highest paid player in the premier league.

With the inevitable loss of his star player Wenger is leaving no stone unturned to soften this blow and is demanding for Mkhitaryan to be included in the deal.

According to reports in Goal, the North London club have agreed on personal terms with the player along with other financial perks possibly making him one the highest earners at the Emirates.

Wenger has for long been an admirer of the Armenian midfielder having shown interest in signing him from Dortmund back in 2016.

The 28-year-old’s technical abilities along with his accurate passing and dribbling skills make him a striker’s delight and defenders nightmare. Moreover his natural style of play is in tandem with the way football is played at the Emirates.

Steve Mislintat’s arrival at the Arsenal as the new head of recruitment has been of great influence in the possible transfers of both Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang having recruited them earlier at Westfalenstadion. His high reference and recommendation have been instrumental in the Gunner’s chase of these elite playmakers.

A possible reunion is on the cards with the ex-Dortmund teammates looking to join shortly. The prospect of having a front four comprising of Lacazette, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, and Aubameyang is truly a terrifying prospect for any opposition and is capable of taking apart even the tightest of defenses.

Wenger is gearing for one of the most productive winter transfer windows in recent history, the struggles of the North London club is far from over with their back line crying out for a defensive mainstay. Although any deal for an established defender looks highly unlikely this transfer window.

All that said and done this season although only halfway through, it looks more or less finished for the Emirates club but with some quality additions and some long-awaited departures the season of 2018-19 might just be the season Gooners are looking for.
