Arsenal favourites to sign Leicester star, as attacker confirms he might leave

mahrez

Riyad Mahrez has confirmed that he’s privileged to be linked with a move Arsenal this summer with speculation surrounding his future at the King Power Stadium.

The 25-year-old Algerian international isn’t the only Leicester player link with the North London outfit in recent weeks, as recent reports state that the Gunners also triggered Jamie Vardy’s £20 million release clause before he left for Euro 2016.

The Foxes hope to make good revenues from both Vardy and Mahrez if they do sell, considering the amount the Foxes secured the signing of both star from Le Havre in 2014, and Arsenal are interested in departing with their millions for both stars.

The Professional Footballers’ Association crowned the Algerian international with Premier League Player of the Year award for 2015-16, and the although England forward Jamie Vardy hogs the wealth of the headlines, Mahrez has been as impressive for the Foxes.

Mahrez spoke at a Nike event earlier this week, and when questioned about Arsenal‘s interest in his service, he answered positively, according to the report from Mirror:

“The season went very well. As you know, we have won the league which was very important. It is incredible. It was by far “my best season in my career.”

“It is flattering to hear, as I said nothing is agreed, nothing is done. We will see. For the moment, I have not made a decision. We will see. It is possible that I stay; it is possible that I leave. We will see.”

After Arsenal manager failed to sign a single outfield player for the Gunners last summer, in order to avoid the saga of last summer, the Frenchman is quickly making up to sign some big names this summer.

Personally, I think the combination of  both Mahrez and Vardy would go a long way in improving the attacking options Arsenal so desperately need, instead of becoming over-reliant on the form of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for the whole season.

Mahrez unquestionably, made an impact in the Foxes Premier League title winning last season as per Wikipedia he made a total 11-assist and bagged 17 in 39 appearances for the Foxes.

According to the report from the Telegraph earlier this morning, Leicester city are keen to keep the PFA Player of the Year has they offer the Algerian a new contract worth £100,000 a week.

Mahrez set to be the latest Leicester star to be offered enormously improved terms after the club’s remarkable season, joining Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Kasper Schmeichel.
