Arsenal manager Unai Emery has challenged young forward Eddie Nketiah to show that he has what it takes to become a regular in the first team.

The 20-year-old has been the most impressive player in the Gunners’ pre-season so far having scored 3 goals in the last 2 games. This included a late winner against Bayern Munich and more recently a brace against Fiorentina.

Speaking on the striker’s future, Emery told Arsenal’s official website:

‘If you earn the right to be with us it’s because I can promise you that you are going to have minutes. But in those minutes you need to learn. And in the pre-season at the moment he’s playing like we want.’

Nketiah was set to make a loan move to Germany in January but an injury to Danny Welbeck meant that this move was blocked as the club needed him to be there.

And as per TalkSport, there are many clubs in the Championship including Queens Park Ranger who are interested in bringing the Englishman on a loan deal.

In whatever games he has played for the club, the youngster has shown that he has an eye for goal and his composure when finishing shows his maturity is beyond his years. Adding to this is his rapid acceleration and pace which is sure to cause problems for a lot of defenses.

The striker will surely get more chances this season as he has become the third choice forward for the North London club. Arsenal need to make use of all the resources that they have and that should see Nketiah being able to showcase his talent more frequently.

And if he is able to prove that he belongs at this level on a regular basis, there is every chance that he can become an integral member of the first team. Nketiah is one of the most promising youngsters to emerge from the Arsenal youth teams in a long time and his potential is quite exciting to see.

Fans will hope and pray that he can score more goals as his playing time increases. This will surely go a long way in helping the Gunners have a successful season and improve upon what they did last year.
