Arsenal are interested in Hoffenheim’s 19 year old talent Philipp Ochs according to BILD.
Although Germany U-19 were knocked out of the European Championship but the performances of Philipp Ochs were like shining light in the darkness as they beat Austria in their final group match and qualified for the FIFA World Cup U-20 playoffs to be held in South Korea.
His performances against Portugal where he scored a hat-trick and Austria has put him in the spotlight attracting interest from all over the world.
He is a player who could play on either of the wings and in the middle has turned some eyes as Arsenal are very much interested in bringing him to the club.
Ochs has been named as one of the brightest young stars of the German Football and has enhanced his burgeoning reputation by playing regularly for the German U-19 side and scoring regularly for them.
He made his Bundesliga debut for Hoffenheim against Bayer Leverkusen last August, before going on to make further 12 league appearances in 2015/16.
Ochs is known for his amazing runs down the flank, getting in between the midfield and defense of the opposition, his agility and an amazing left foot. His calmness on the field was tested against Portugal U-19 where he netted two penalty kicks.
Arsenal scouts and Arsene wenger has been quite impressed and has enquired about him with Hoffenheim.
Ochs himself wouldn’t comment about the interest and according to Bild, he said:
Currently, i focus on the European CHAMPIONSHIP
Philipp Ochs agent and advisor Arthur Beck said:
Philipp has attracted interest with his strong performances not only at the Euros but we won’t participate in any kind of speculation.
Ochs, one of the favourite player of current Hoffeinheim manager Julian Nagelsmann said:
he has a CONTRACT until 2019 and he’ll be staying
Hoffenheim are in no hurry to sell their young star but the kind of money the foreign clubs have right now will intimidate German clubs.
Ochs on the left and Ox on the right would be pretty funny and he looks like a typical Wenger signing.
With the signing of Takumi Asano and other academy graduates playing well for the reserve, I don’t think the deal will come to fruition. Let’s see where this goes!
