A selection of the Arsenal supporters have criticised the performances of Mohamed Elneny and Carl Jenkinson following the club’s disappointing 3-2 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace.
The duo have barely featured in the Premier League over the course of the season, but manager Unai Emery made the decision to feature them from the starting lineup as a means of rotating the players.
However, the move turned to be unfruitful with the pair struggling to make meaningful impacts alongside Shkodran Mustafi, and some fans have suggested that the pair don’t have the credentials to play for the club.

Jokes aside if Mustafi is in our squad next season, you will have to question the ambition of the club. He is on 90kpw and almost costs us every match he starts. He isn't good enough for a top half PL team.
Same goes with Jenkinson and Elneny. Not good enough to start for us.— P™ (@SemperFiArsenal) April 21, 2019
Win at home and go third. Then you start Elneny, Jenkinson and Elneny.

Mustafi, Mkhitaryan, Elneny and Jenkinson need to show the door this summer. They are not good for my Arsenal.
Be warm again. Wolves are not easy to defeat; they are good with top4 teams. https://t.co/BrVXDoDMp8— Abraham Kargbo (@AbrahamKargbo5) April 21, 2019

Elneny was started alongside Matteo Guendouzi at the heart of the midfield, but he happened to struggle during the first period, where he had regularly tended to pass the ball towards his own backline rather than searching for a forward outlet.
The Egyptian improved on his showing as the game progressed, but he could not make any meaningful impact before he was replaced by Lucas Torreira towards the final quarter of the derby.
Meanwhile, right-back Jenkinson was lively with his movement towards the Palace defence during the opening exchanges of the game, but he thereafter struggled to cope with the threat of Wilfried Zaha, who regularly overlapped him.
Ultimately, the 27-year-old was substituted at the half-time break, but he was culpable for gifting the Eagles with the opener from a free-kick. Jenkinson failed to play the offside trap unlike his teammates which allowed Christian Benteke with a free header on goal.
Arsenal return to Premier League action in midweek with an away game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. There would be no surprises, if Jenkinson and Emery are dropped to the bench for the encounter.
