Recently when speaking to the media, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that spending £2 million on an unproven talent will be risky, but is confident that he has what it takes to make it big. He said:
He’s a defensive midfielder, 6ft 2ins, he has a good energy level and technical level. Also, it’s a gamble. But on what we saw it’s worth taking.
It’s less than £2m. It’s an awful lot of money for a player if he doesn’t succeed. If he does succeed then it’s cheap.

Wenger has recently suggested that the Polish star will get first team action straight away but he is likely to deputise Francis Coquelin and Flamini for the remainder of the season. He has been dubbed the next Patrick Vieira and under the French manager he has the perfect mentor to reach those expectations.
It’s definitely a nice start and the fans will now be waiting to see more established names coming in the next week or so, with defense requiring the most attention.
Can he be the next Patrick Vieira?
