Arsenal target Krystian Bielik has confirmed that he is on the verge of completing a move to the Emirates after speaking personally with Arsene Wenger.
The 16 year old has been watched by the Gunners scouts for some time and reports last week suggested that the North London club made a £1.6 million bid which was accepted by Legia Warsaw.
The youngster who has been labelled the ‘next Patrick Vieira’, revealed that he will join the junior team after signing and has also been promised by Wenger that he would be given chance to shine in the senior side if he manages to impress.
Speaking to Polish Press, he said:
Wenger said what he sees in me, then asked me about my strengths. It turns out that we had a similar opinion.
He said I would start training with the first-team under his guidance, and then it all depends on me.
He knows that I have the skills, and I am determined to win and he wants to sign me as soon as possible to start working with me.
I would train with the first-team and play in the junior teams — U18, U19 or U21 — and Wenger says that if I am good enough to stay in the first team, I will remain in it.
He is skilful, calm on the ball, a hard tackler, determined, and has an aerial presence in the box. He is similar to Patrick Vieira in his playing style, as he too is a powerhouse in the midfield with an excellent technical ability . However, he is far from the finished product and hasn’t really shone while playing in the Polish top division.
The youngster is an excellent prospect for the future, but cannot be expected to make an immediate impact when he eventually arrives. He lacks the experience at the Premier League level and will need to adapt to the physicality and the pace of the game. He has often been compared to Vieira and even if he remotely lives up to that expectation then we will have a hell of a player on our hands.
However the Gunners are in desperate need of some defensive recruitment’s in the winter transfer window, if we are to have any chance of finishing in the top four. Even if we sign Bielik, we need an experienced midfield enforcer as the youngster will take some time to get going. So it will be wise to sign a defensive midfielder in January, who can provide an immediate solution and can also help in developing Krystian.
Is Bielik the next Patrick Vieira?
