Arsenal will be looking to continue the fine form they’ve picked up as they haven’t lost a game since the thriller with Liverpool at the beginning of the season.
They have been unstoppable this season. 3-0 victory against Chelsea in their last league match was followed with 2-0 victory against FC Basel in Champions League. Arsenal are undefeated in their last seven matches in all competitions winning in six of them. They are entering this match highly motivated and determined to continue with the good results. When it comes to their mutual encounters, Arsenal won in their last four matches against Burnley scoring nine goals and conceding only two. They are absolute favorites in this match and the team will head in this match for an early goal and easy win.
It has invigorated belief that this season may be the watershed campaign for the Gunners. The squad looks complete, and our key players are approaching their peak years. We have upper echelon talent in each position, and the emergence of Alexis as a striker has allowed the inherent strengths of the team to come to the fore.
Burnley have started impressively on their return to the top flight and victory over Watford last week took them to a tally of seven points from their first six games. Sean Dyche’s aerial attack could be of particular concern to Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi.
But in truth Arsenal will be disappointed with anything less than a win at Turf Moor on Sunday.
Here is the Predicted Line-up for the Gunners.
GOALKEEPER:
Petr Cech will start ahead of David Ospina as he did in the match against Chelsea. Cech will be playing the Premier League matches whereas Ospina will start the Champions League matches.
DEFENCE:
Hector Bellerin has played almost every match this season but should retain his place this afternoon. Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi will start alongside him. Nacho Monreal will undoubtedly keep his place this afternoon. The Spaniard has gotten back to his best in recent weeks after a shaky start to the season.
MIDFIELD:
Granit Xhaka has not been the go to option for Wenger, but with his recent goal-scoring exploits couple by an injury sustained to Francis Coquelin, the manager is likely to give him the nod to start alongside Santi Cazorla in the middle of the park. We could see Francis Coquelin on the bench after him back in full training with the first team. Mesut Ozil has been extremely dexterous playing off the striker. The German has really shown his quality in recent weeks.
ATTACK:
Moving forward, Theo Walcott has looked ever so impressive playing down the right, reminiscing his phenomenal form of the 2012/13 and is set to continue in the Gunners lineup after scoring a brace in mid-week. Alex Iwobi was named on the shortlist for the 2016 Golden Boy award this week and will be hoping for a golden performance against Burnley. Alexis Sanchez has enjoyed life playing as a striker and has seen Wenger bring the best out of him. His sharpness in front of goal is second to none, his movement sublime, and all in all, he is an absolute joy to watch. Unless something catastrophic occurs between now and kick-off time, the Chilean will start in the number 9 position.
We could see mostly the same squad Arsenal had against FC Basel.
Complete Predicted Line-up:
Petr Cech, Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez.
Bench: Ospina, Gabriel, Gibbs, Elneny, Coquelin, Perez and Chamberlain.
Arsenal have form and could just ran rampant on the newly promoted side but Burnley are likely to give the Gunners more of a fight than they received last weekend.
What scoreline do you predict ?
