Potential Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has set his sight on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscienly.
The Portuguese boss, who is just an announcement away from resuming officially as United boss after the sack of Louis Van Gaal yesterday, has French duo, Koscienly and Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante topping his transfer list, according to tribalfootball via french media Le 10 Sport.
Koscienly is arguably the only dependable centre-back for the Gunners at present. Per Metersacker has somehow past his best due to his inconsistency, and Gabriel Paulista form in the Premier League is not yet fully convincing.
Arsenal is equally looking to strengthen the back, so selling Koscienly does not appear for Arsene Wenger. The Gunners boss is looking towards signing either Bayern Munich’s Mehdi Benatia or Swansea’s Ashley Williams and lately Villareal Mateo Musacchio, to pair Koscienly at the heart of defence next season.
The former Real Madrid coach was also reported to be interested in taking Mesut Ozil to the Old Trafford. The Germany international has postponed any discussion about his future at Arsenal until after EURO 2016.
The North London club is working towards making German the first player to earn £200,000 per week at the club. The Emirates outfits are continously link with different strikers despite rumored negotiations with Real Madrid over a possible transfer for Alvaro Morata.
However the Gunners manager Arsene wenger is planning to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season, has he planning to land Bayern Munich’s defender Benatia according to the reports from RMC Sport.
Nevertheless, the RMC claim the French manager is going to face serious competition from rival as United and Chelsea are both monitoring the talented centre-back.
Koscienly out of Arsenal doesn’t seem possible and I am sure manager Arsene Wenger we never want to sell his player to his rivals. There have been reports from the French media that the Frenchman is set to be named the captain for the next season, which makes this rumours even more meaningless.
