It has been a few months since he left the club, but there remains a strong association between Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. Therefore, it is no surprise that many people look for his opinion on how the club is doing in certain aspects.
Last week, the club announced that midfielder Aaron Ramsey will leave at the end of the season to join Juventus.
While speaking at Laureus Sport for Good presentation, Wenger was asked to give his take on Aaron Ramsey’s move to Italy. According to Sky Sports, the Frenchman has been quoted as saying:
“It will be a loss for Arsenal. I must say it will be an interesting move for Ramsey.
“He is a player who is great going forward. His main quality is he can keep the final ball and he makes interesting runs from deep.
“You don’t find many players today who can make midfield runs off the ball. It will be an interesting addition for Juventus.”
Wenger was in charge when Arsenal brought in Ramsey and the French boss was one of the driving forces behind the Welshman’s decision to join the Gunners. As Wenger stated, it will be a big loss for the club, as the playmaker has been an integral part of this side for the past decade.
Ramsey has been instrumental in ending the North London club’s trophy drought scoring two FA Cup winners. After suffering a career-threatening injury against Stoke City, he came back to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
The midfielder will be ending his 11-year stay at the club this summer and all that matters now is how he can help the team until the end of the season.
Arsenal are facing a fight to get back into the Champions League as there is strong competition from both Chelsea and Manchester United for the fourth and final spot. And to make matters worse, they lost the first leg of the Round of 32 fixture against BATE Borisov.
The Europa League is the only other way they can make it to the top tier of Europe. If Ramsey is able to help the team get there, he would have more than done his job.
After many years of being in the Champions League, the North London club have been away from Europe’s elite competition for the past 2 years and Emery’s primary goal this season would be to get them back.
