The representative of Hector Bellerin has clarified that there is no truth to rumours linking the defender with a potential exit from Arsenal during the summer.
The Spain international has had an average season by his standards, but his agent has stressed that the right-back is content with his current position at the club.
Bellerin’s future has been the topic of speculation over the past few weeks with Juventus, Napoli and Manchester United touted as possible candidates for his signature.
More so, there has been the talk of the Gunners placing a £50m price tag on the defender’s head as they seek to utilise the money gained for an overhaul of the squad.
However, Bellerin’s agent Albert Botines has poured cold water on the gossip by citing that there has not been any contact from interested parties to pursue his client’s signature, he said, via Evening Standard:
“There’s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out. He’s happy, he’s recently renewed and he’s playing consistently. It’s true that every player always wants to grow, but right now it’s difficult [to see him leaving].”
The comments from Botines make a lot of sense, considering the Gunners do not have quality back-up behind Bellerin in their ranks.
The former La Masia graduate is also contracted to the club until the summer of 2023, and there is not much of a rush to sell, unless the player himself demands an exit.
The Spaniard has previously spoken about his fond bond with manager Arsene Wenger, who helped in his transformation into a right-sided defender, and probably the Frenchman’s exit could be one condition, where the 22-year-old may weigh up his future.
