Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly prepared to push through a move to Liverpool at the end of the current campaign.
The England international has played a bit part role during his six year stint with the north London club and he is now assessing his future despite being offered a regular run of late.
According to The Telegraph, Chamberlain could see himself at a new club in the summer with his existing deal due to expire in a year’s time.
The former Southampton graduate has yet to resolve his future with the FA Cup finalists and it is reported that his contract standoff could lead to him being sold during the off-season.
The 23-year-old, who has recently reveled in the right wing back role, is keen on plying his trade at the centre of the park, and this is something which is not guaranteed given the form of Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka in recent weeks.
The likes of Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny are also present to provide backup and this will probably restrict Oxlade-Chamberlain from a central midfield unless an injury crisis evolves.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to add a new midfielder to his ranks this summer, and Oxlade-Chamberlain is said to fit the bill owing to his excellent work rate and contribution showcased in recent outings.
Arsenal are likely to cash in on Oxlade-Chamberlain, should he ignore a contract extension, and this could see him join Liverpool in a potential £25m deal this summer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who earns £65,000-a-week, has directly contributed to 17 goals for Arsenal this season – his best return in the club shirt.
