Mikel Arteta could be set to include exciting youngster Charlie Patino into the Arsenal matchday squad soon, as per journalist Chris Wheatley.
The 17-year-old has been highly touted for some time now and is showing his class playing with those much older than him. There is a chance that the midfielder could be next in line to excel from the club’s academy.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Wheatley spoke about Patino as he said:
“Charlie Patino likely to be named in upcoming Carabao Cup game against Wimbledon. We probably expect him to be on the bench this game. I’ve been told he’s really impressing the Arsenal players in the first team.”
This news has generated a lot of buzz among the Gunners fans who are keen on seeing the player in action. They were quick to show their excitement on Twitter. Here are some of the best reactions:

Arsenal Fever View:
Charlie Patino has been likened to former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere due to the similarities in their playing styles. Both are incredible on the ball, are left-footed and have the ability to go past the opposition with ease. This was on display recently against the Manchester United youth team.
The midfielder won the ball back, slalomed his way past four of the defenders and produced a delicate chip to beat keeper Dean Henderson. After the emergence of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, there is genuine hope and expectation that this could be the next star to come out of Hale End.
Of course, the senior level is not going to be the same as the youth system, as the game gets more tactical and physical. But it speaks volumes of the youngster’s talent and potential that he is being included in the plans of Arteta. This is a chance for the 17-year-old to show what he is capable of.
Next week could be the first time we see Patino be part of the Arsenal first-team. There is a lot of hype surrounding the midfielder and the fans will be hoping that they witness the emergence of another young star.
