Arsenal supporters were critical over the performance of Theo Walcott during Tuesday’s League Cup quarter-final win West Ham United.
The Gunners secured a comfortable 1-0 win over the Hammers in the end, but the skipper on the night received some stick for his poor finishing.
Walcott has been often ignored for the Premier League duties this term, and he appeared to have revived his form after an impressive performance in the 6-0 Europa League triumph over BATE Borisov.
Chances were few and far between for the Gunners on Tuesday night, but the 28-year-old undoubtedly received the best opportunity to score after he put clear on goal by Sead Kolasinac.
With no opposition, Walcott had time to set himself to score with his feet, but the attacker rather opted for a diving header which did not test goalkeeper Joe Hart. Danny Welbeck scored a few minutes later from close range, but the fans were nevertheless livid with the performance of the captain.

Really needs to be Walcott’s last few weeks at Arsenal.

Theo Walcott is a magician. How does he keep getting away with being a footballer? No other illusionist could keep this long con going.

Walcott has been an excellent contributor for the Gunners over the past decade netting 108 goals in nearly 400 appearances. However, since April, the attacker has not come close to commanding starting role in the top-flight, and his stay could be limited to the New Year.
A number of Premier League clubs have already been credited with an interest in the forward, and the Gunners could sanction a deal, although Wenger will still want additional back-up with the club still competing in the League Cup, where they have a two-legged semi-final versus London rivals Chelsea.
