BeIN Sports pundit slams Arsenal over handling of midfielder’s contract

Aaron Ramsey

When the reign of Arsene Wenger was done and Unai Emery took over, there was a sense of optimism and fear that surrounded the club.

This is understandable when you have someone leaving the club after more than two decades. But despite seeing many positive changes in the team both on and off the pitch there is one thing that has not changed yet.

That would be the handling of the player’s contracts. Richard Keys of BEIN Sports was quick to criticize the club about this, in the aftermath of the win against Fulham. As per Express, he said:

Talking about Aaron Ramsey, this is what Keys had to say:

“What are Arsenal thinking letting this guy walk away for nothing at the end of the season? It’s madness.

A committed, professional, one-club man is so rare these. In Ramsey, Arsenal have got one – and they don’t want to offer him a new deal? It’s crazy.”

These are strong words but it is true that many Arsenal fans feel the same way as well. It is wrong of the club to let go of a player such as Ramsey and if he does leave for free, it will be so much worse.

The Gunners board has to find a solution to this issue and hopefully it will be one that sees Ramsey stay at the club. That would be the best outcome for everyone associated with the club.

It is no secret that many top clubs around the world will be interested in getting the Welshman so Arsenal will have to act quickly if they want to secure a favorable deal.

The Gunners have a lot of momentum with them at the moment but something like this can derail that and they will definitely want to avoid it.

The primary goal of this season is to get back into the Champions League and for that to happen, you will need the contribution of players such as Ramsey. So, there is only one message that the fans will have for the board and that is: sign him up.
