Bayern Munich are the latest name to have been thrown in the mix to sign Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez during the summer transfer window. The Chile international has been reluctant to pen terms over a fresh Gunners contract despite his previous deal due to expire in June 2018.

Sanchez, 28, has expressed his frustration towards his fellow teammates ever since the 5-1 thumping at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, last 16, first-leg. He has since been surprisingly benched for the first half of the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool whilst the Gunners have also bowed out of Europe via a 10-2 aggregate thumping against Bayern.

According to Catalan outlet Sport, the Chile international could be the subject of interest from the German champions themselves with Carlo Ancelotti keen to add the missing link to his squad.

The Bavarian giants have lifted the Champions League just once in the last five seasons where they have reached the semi-final stage, and they are willing to recruit Sanchez to provide them the edge over Barcelona and Real Madrid at the European stage.

Sanchez is understood to have placed his demands for a fresh £250,000-a-week contract at the Emirates, and it looks more and more that he will leave for a club overseas with the Gunners known for their shrewd wage policy.

Meanwhile, Sport also claims that the Chilean could be available for a fee of around £35m with the Gunners open to offloading the marksman rather than losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

Sanchez remains crucial to the Gunners’ top-four ambitions alongside a potential FA Cup triumph following his best season in the club’s shirt to date. He has notched 18 goals and nine assists in 27 league outings for Arsenal this campaign.
