According to reports in the Daily star via Italian new outlet SNAI Sportsnews it is being claimed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has informed his stars that he’ll be quitting the north Londoners.
Over the last few weeks there have been a lot of speculation about the future of Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger with some media outlets claiming that a possible two-year contract extension has been offered to the Boss which he will decide to take up at the end of this season, while others claim that he is most certain to leave at the end of the season.
Juventus Boss Massimiliano Allegri has the one placed as one of the leading contenders to replace the Long-serving Frenchman at the end of the season following a fallout with some of the senior players at the Turin-based club.
With Wenger’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Tancredi Palmeri, a correspondent for beIN Sports has reported in an exclusive via the Italian news outlet that Wenger has told the Arsenal dressing room that he will be leaving at the end of the season.
Wenger has also privately talked with Arsenal Sports Center where he has stated that he has decided on moving on at the end of the season given Arsenal’s recent disastrous run of results on all fronts bar the FA CUP where they are still in contention.
This decision has reportedly come from the boss about three weeks ago after the horrendous result against Bayern Munich during the first leg which apparently helped him make his decision probably due to his team’s most likely inability to progress beyond the round of last 16.
Although the report states that nothing for sure as of now because Wenger wholeheartedly retains the support of the Arsenal Board and the majority shareholder Stan Kroenke who is a huge admirer of Wenger and his running of the club and believes he is still the right man to lead the team forward.
Most likely consequence of his ending his long stay at the club he loves more than life itself with be a mass exodus of players fiercely loyal to the Frenchman and owe their careers to him including the likes of Bellerin, Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, Ramsey and many others who will most certainly leave the club in search of fresh challenges if the person who has brought them in no longer stays at the club.
Given the fact that it could yet be just another speculation or another report attempting to gain traction and garner attention, nothing can be said for sure as of now till the man himself speaks cogently about his future.
If Arsene truly believes that he cannot genuinely help this team improve further the next season or if he is no longer the best man for the job then he will unquestionably leave the club of his heart no matter how much it would pain him to do so.
The thing, I am looking forward to is that if he stays will the Frenchman sign a genuine big money superstar signing like the likes of Aubameyang or Griezmann or someone that can genuinely uplift the team and help us compete on the global level, not just the Premier League.
Cheers and COYG !!!!
