Arsenal’s star striker demands Man City switch

Arsenal could yet lose another star player to our rival as we face an uphill task to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club following the latest reports that the forward has told his agent that he desires a move to Manchester City.

The Chile international has become increasingly fed up with life at the Emirates, according to Don Balon. The 27-year-old had openly criticized the mentality of his teammates and their lack of hunger to win the league earlier this year.

He was not too pleased with Wenger’s decision to substitute him during the 1-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday and headed straight down the tunnel.

He has been linked with a return to Spain with Real Madrid and German giants Bayern Munich are also reported to be interested in his services with Caro Ancelotti-who will replace Guardiola at the Allianz Arena- was said to have the former Udinese forward top on his transfer list.

But with Pep Guardiola coming in as Man City boss in the summer, the attacker would fancy a reunion with the Spainard. Sanchez played under Guardiola at Barcelona before switching to the Premier League in 2014.

Both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil-Arsenal record signings- are yet to sign a new deal at the club and there has been speculations of their departure from the club.

Arsene Wenger’s confidence of keeping the pair at the club could have quashed with the recent news, especially with the Frenchman planning a major rebuild of the squad in the summer. The London club have witnessed being ripped of our best player the Etihad outfits in the last few seasons.

The likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Kolo Toure have all moved to the Manchester club. Sanchez cost Arsenal £35 million in 2014. He has since netted 28 goals in 61 outings for the Gunners, winning the FA Cup twice.

Alexis Sanchez joined Arsenal during the 2014 summer transfer window from Barcelona, after finalizing a decorated three season leaving the Spanish club with 47 goal in 144 appearance and also won some elite trophies with the like of La liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Arsenal third on the league table, is going to be visiting Manchester city at Etihad on Sunday. Anything less than three point can bring the north London side 4th on the league table and will have to feature for the champions league qualifies.
