Arsenal interested in loan deal for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani

Arsenal are looking at bringing in Juventus center back Daniele Rugani on a loan deal, according to reports from Turin based Corriere Torino.

The report states that the defender is valued by the Serie A champions at €40m and hence the North London club are looking at a temporary deal for the moment.

The defender will be looked at with an option to buy at the end of his loan deal. But there is one factor that may hold up the deal(as per Metro) and that is the fitness of Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini who is injured right now.

The center back is being targeted because he would be a great addition to the team which has a defense that is on the weaker side. Rugani would be looking elsewhere to play first-team football as his club just signed Matthijs de Ligt and his chances will be reduced due to that.

Captain Laurent Koscielny refused to travel with the Arsenal team on their pre-season tour of the USA and it appears that he may not be playing again for the club. And also, Rob Holding is coming back from a long-term injury and cannot be expected to start matches right now as he needs to become match fit.

Getting Rugani to the Emirates would solve a lot of these problems. And the fact that he is being brought in on a loan deal means that there will not be a lot of impact on the budget that the Gunners have set aside for the summer. It allows the club to spend more on other players.

Arsenal have been quite active in the transfer market having made three signings so far. They are also on the verge of officially making a club-record move for Nicolas Pepe. Rugani would present a very smart move for the Gunners as it solves an immediate problem that the club faces with great young talent.

The defender will play with a point to prove as he will want to show that he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level. A center back like Rugani would definitely be a welcome addition to the Emirates and fans will be hoping that this deal goes through.
