Arsenal are reportedly looking to send prolific academy striker Stephy Mavididi on loan before the transfer market window officially closes 2 days time, according to reports in ESPN.
The 18-year-old who is an English player who was born in Derby, was the highest goalscorer for the U-21’s last season.
His numbers last season are very impressive as he netted 17 goals in 30 appearances. The powerful striker helped the U-21 side managed by Steve Gatting earn promotion into Division 1.
Described as a hardworking and dedicated player by his handlers, Mavididi is a potential star for the club.
He was part of the squad that represented England in the U-17 World cup at Chile 2015, that crashed out in the group stages.
Having being promoted to the u23 side this season, he has already registered 8 goals in 17 appearances which many believe, is the reason behind the management’s decision to send him out on loan, in a bid to secure first team action for the young lad and accelerate his development phase.
Very comfortable playing as a lone striker, he embodies the talents of a classic center forward very much like a Didier Drogba of yesteryear in Chelsea.
The 18-year-old will be excited as the possibilities of breaking into the senior side seems rather closer than first imagined.
Espnfc sources have claimed a number of championship and league 1 sides have expressed their desire to have him since he became available for loan.
I won’t be surprised if he returns and pulls off an Alex Iwobi, who has become an integral part of the senior team.
At a point in modern football were clubs of Arsenal’s stature and ambition are squarely focused on out pricing each other for established names, it is refreshing to see Arsenal FC are still giving young academy products a world class stage to shine on.
