Good Morning all, Arsene Wenger is still on the raid of signing some big name players this summer after completing the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
In the light of that, the manager has been seen very serious and busy in the summer transfer window so far.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has now taken a new turn following reports coming from England’s camp at the EURO 2016 in France that he has informed his national team-mates of his decision to remain with the Premier League champion next season.
The Gunners were close to signing the England international last week after triggering the release clause on his contract worth around £20 million but the tide turned after the striker refused to make a definite decision about his potential move to the Emirates stadium before leaving for the European tournament.
The London Evening Standard claimed that the forward stated that there is “eighty per cent” likelihood that he would not move to the Gunners as he is not confident of his first-team opportunities at Arsenal with Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott to compete with.
Welbeck is currently out with a knee injury and will miss most of the next season while Giroud and Walcott were far from being consistent last season.
Arsene Wenger plans to bring a new striker to the club to bolster the attack and hoped Vardy would end his search for an attacker in the transfer window.
Vardy was so impressive last term after netting 24 goals in 36 league appearance for the Foxes with such performance I personally think doing the same at the Emirate Stadium will be a Brilliant one.
However, the report also claimed the French coach is still hopeful of landing the striker. Leicester are keen to keep the 29-year-old at the club and have made a counter offer of £100,000 a week to Arsenal’s £120,000 a week putting him in a fix.
Claudio Rianeri does not want to lose as any of his Premier League-winning squad as they prepare for their first outing in the Champions League next season.
It will be a risk to continue waiting for Vardy while other clubs snap up the available strikers in the market. Our pursuit of Leicester star man have given Chelsea the opportunity to be closing in on our “former” target Alvaro Morata while Manchester City are also reportedly on the trail of Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang.
