Arsenal Team News against West Ham: Jesus, Odegaard

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal have a London derby to deal with this weekend as they welcome Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham United. Who are the players that could miss out on this game?

With the international break coming up, the Gunners would be keen to add another win to their tally. This is essential if they are to put pressure on Liverpool who seem to be unstoppable for the most part.

As for the team news, there are four players who are currently unavailable with an injury. Noni Madueke, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Piero Hincapie are all out for different periods of time. Mikel Arteta will be hoping that they can bring these players into what is already a deep squad.

Both the manager and club will be encouraged by the return to fitness of both Ben White and Martin Odegaard. The England defender in particular has had a tough time and having him back will provide backup and competition to Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal Fever View:

Playing the Hammers with Graham Potter as their manager would have probably been a much easier game but with the new manager, the visitors will not be easy to break down. Nuno is someone who prides himself in making his teams difficult to break down.

This is where the likes of Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze come into play. The creativity that these three possess will be crucial to unlocking any defence. If the north Londoners can get them on the ball a lot, it drastically improves their chances of winning.

Another player who would want to make a telling contribution is Viktor Gyokeres who has been playing well without finding the back of the net. The Swede is slowly starting to understand the rhythm of his teammates and vice-versa. This bodes well for the future and will be encouraging for the manager.

Arsenal will be looking to make the most of the loss suffered by Liverpool at Crystal Palace. That has narrowed the gap down to two points, but the league is still in the hands of the defending champions. What the club and Arteta will want to focus on is getting as many wins as possible and hope it results in silverware.
