Arsenal Team News against PSV: Martinelli, Zinchenko

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal get back to European football this Thursday as they get ready to host PSV in a match that could decide where they end up in their group, so let’s take a look at the latest team news.

The Gunners are flying high at the moment with them topping their group in Europe and they are four points clear at the top of the Premier League as well. This momentum and confidence will surely come in handy when facing a team as good as the Dutch giants.

As for the team news, the north Londoners are still without the services of Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny. Apart from this, there are doubts over the availability of Alex Zinchenko and Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian youngster is ill and hasn’t taken part in training while Zinchenko has been missing for a while. However, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that neither of the players are ruled out for this game.

We can expect to see a lot of rotation given the important clash against Southampton at the weekend. This could give a few key players some much-needed rest in what is going to be a hectic season.

Arsenal Fever View:

If the Gunners are to get the three points at the Emirates, they need to keep the exciting PSV attack quiet. The likes of Cody Gakpo and Xavi Simons are terrific talents that can create a lot of problems.

For the hosts, they need to bring their wingers into the game and look to attack the opposition full backs. If that happens, it will be easier for the north Londoners to create chances for the striker to score from.

Though the visitors are second in the table, they have been very impressive this season as they are keeping pace with Ajax in the Dutch league. Mikel Arteta would want his players to play with a little more control than what they showed against Leeds.

It will be a test for some of the fringe players to show that they have what it takes to be counted on. It will give the manager some confidence that this squad has what it takes to handle the demands of the season.

Arsenal will hope that their home support sways the game in their favour and they are able to get another win. This will give them some breathing room in the remaining two games of the group stage.
