Arsenal Team News against Leicester City: Tomiyasu, Smith Rowe

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal will look to keep their winning run intact when they take on Leicester City on Sunday at the Emirates, so let’s take a look at the team news.

With a place in the top four getting closer and closer, the north Londoners must ensure that they do not drop any points. The hosts have moved into the top four on the back of some good performances and find themselves in a great position. If they can continue playing at the same level, a return to the Champions League can become a real possibility.

There is only one major concern for the Gunners and that comes in the form of full back Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japanese international has struggled with a calf injury in the past few weeks and is a doubt for the weekend’s game.

The good news for the hosts is that Emile Smith Rowe could be back in the starting XI after missing out against Watford. The Englishman is the team’s top scorer this season and his runs from midfield are capable of changing any game.

Arsenal Fever View:

The hosts need to be wary about the attacking threat that Leicester possess. In particular, the home side will be well aware of the talents of Jamie Vardy who enjoys a great record against the north Londoners. But with suggestions that he could be missing out due to injury, it lessens the burden on the likes of Ben White and Gabriel.

Against the Hornets, there were a few warning signs for the Gunners. Despite coming out on top and looking comfortable for the most part, there were a few notable scares in defence. Mikel Arteta would be keen that his team will avoid being complacent as it could end up costing them points.

With only a few games left to go in the season, Arsenal have put themselves in the driving seat with regards to the Champions League. Though the job is far from done, the north Londoners can feel confident of their chances. A win over the Foxes would be further proof that they mean business.
