As per the Evening Standard, Arsenal have received a huge injury boost with Thomas Partey expected to return earlier than expected.
The Ghanaian started the first three games of the season but has been out of action since due to an injury. The Gunners are already facing some injury complications given the fact that Mohamed Elneny is also nursing an injury.
The report states that the midfielder should be back before the international break this month. And there is a chance that the 29-year-old will be able to play a part against Everton.
Evening Standard also state that Mikel Arteta will not rush the Ghana international into action. This is being done to ensure that there is no aggravation of the injury. The report also goes on to say that Partey could feature in some group training this week.
Arsenal Fever View:
Though the north Londoners have done well in the transfer window this summer, it was a little surprising to see them not get a central midfielder. And injuries to both Partey and Elneny show just how fragile this squad can be.
Though Arteta has the option of playing Lokonga in this role, it is clear to see that the Belgian plays better in a more advanced position. So, it is imperative that these two midfielders get fit and come back soon.
On the other hand, the manager has to be careful about not rushing the player back. Managing the 29-year-old will be crucial as we go further into a season where the games keep coming at a breakneck pace until the start of the World Cup.
Despite suffering their first loss of the season, Arsenal will be really happy with how they have started. As they sit on top of the table, the club will be aware that a couple of injuries can derail their momentum. The next few months will be a great measure of how much Arteta has improved as a manager. And for that, it is necessary to have Thomas Partey fit and ready.
