Arsenal will reportedly part ways with Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez when he enters the final year of his Gunners contract in the summer.
The 28-year-old has been reluctant to ink terms over a fresh deal over the course of the season, and it is understood that the club will cash in on his services following an incident in March.
Spanish outlet Don Balon suggests that manager Arsene Wenger was initially expecting to keep hold of the winger following an impressive season which has seen him net 22 goals across all competitions.
However, the Frenchman has had a change of mind since March after Sanchez was caught laughing during his side’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, last 16.
Sanchez has since found himself surprisingly benched for the first half of the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool while the club have postponed contract negotiations until the end of the season.
According to Don Balon, the north London giants will sanction the sale of their in-form forward in the summer with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid keen on his services.
Wenger’s future has been the subject of speculation over the past month or so, but it looks more and more likely that the Frenchman will extend his stay beyond the current campaign.
Arsenal have lost key players in the form of Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri to their league rivals over the past decade, and Wenger would rather favour Sanchez’s sale to a club abroad – willing to match his £50m valuation.
Sanchez, who is currently on a £130,000 weekly package, has previously highlighted that he would like to stay in London with a team having a ‘winning mentality‘.
