Arsenal Predicted Lineup against Newcastle United

Bukayo Saka

Arsenal face one of their toughest challenges of the season as they travel up north to take on Newcastle United. What changes will Mikel Arteta be making for this game?

The Gunners were away to Port Vale during the week and were able to emerge 2-0 winners. This match saw a lot of changes made to the team and we can expect to see a many changes for Sunday’s all-important clash as well.

David Raya will come back in goal to replace his countryman Kepa and the Spaniard is sure to have a busy night against the Magpies. As for the fullbacks, it is going to be the usual combination of Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori.

William Saliba will keep his place in the centre of defence and the one change will be that of Gabriel coming in. The Brazilian will take the place of Christhian Mosquera who has been quite impressive since his arrival from Valencia.

In midfield, after a solid first start, Christian Norgaard will be back on the bench to make way for Martin Zubimendi. The former Real Sociedad man will be along with Declan Rice and most likely it will be Mikel Merino.

The latter will be preferred due to the physicality that is sure to be present in the Newcastle approach. On the wings, Bukayo Saka will start given that he is back to being fit and the injury suffered by Noni Madueke.

On the left, Eberechi Eze will be given a chance having scored his forst goal for the club on Wednesday. The guile and skill that the Englishman could prove to be useful in breaking down the home defence.

Viktor Gyokeres will have another tough game as he is not going to be given much room by the hosts. But if chances can be created for the Swede, the north Londoners could head back with a win and three points.

Arsenal know how difficult it is going to be to take on Newcastle especially away from home. But Arteta will be confident in his players that they have the technical ability and physicality needed to come away with the win.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup (4-3-3):

David Raya, Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres
