Arsenal Predicted Lineup against Manchester City: Gyokeres, Eze

Arsenal will be back home to take on Manchester City is what will be another tough clash in their start to the season. Will Mikel Arteta make any changes for this game?

The Gunners who were at Bilbao on Tuesday got their Champions League campaign off to a great start with a 2-0 win. That should give them a lot of confidence ahead of this important clash against a rejuvenated City team.

David Raya will be in goal and will want to add to his three clean sheets but will be tough against a side that has Erling Haaland. With the fitness of William Saliba in question, we are likely to see both Christhian Mosquera and Gabriel start as the centre backs.

As for the full backs, it is tough to see Arteta making any changes and will have Jurrien Timber Riccardo Calafiori starting. The option to bring on Myles Lewis-Skelly is also there but it is more likely that the manager will not make any changes.

In the midfield, there is some doubt over the fitness of captain Martin Odegaard, this should result in an unchanged midfield for the north Londoners. Martin Zubimendi will be along with Declan Rice and Mikel Merino.

Merino in particular could prove to be useful with his aerial ability and willingness to get into the box to get on the end of a pass. As for the attack, the choice on the right wing is pretty easy given that Bukayo Saka is not fully fit yet.

That should see Noni Madueke get another start as the English forward has made an exciting to start to life with Arsenal. On the left, Arteta would have to choose between Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Martinelli and could very well go for the latter given the pace he offers.

In attack, Viktor Gyokeres will have yet another tough game after already having played the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United. If the Swede can be given a few chances, he is sure to find the back of the net.

Arsenal have improved their record against City massively in recent times but that does not mean this is going to be an easy game. If the Gunners can create chances, then they can be confident of taking the three points.

Arsenal Predicted XI (4-3-3):

David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Christhian Mosquera, Gabriel, Riccardo, Calafiori, Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, Viktor Gyokeres
