Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates on Sunday as they look to continue their stay at the top of the Premier League, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners had a good game during the week as they were able to get the better of Bodo/Glimt. But this will be a different kind of challenge as the Reds are always known to turn up when they play against the Gunners.
Aaron Ramsdale will replace Matt Turner in goal. The Englishman will have quite a task keeping the visitors at bay as they have a fearsome attack. As for the full backs, there could be one change with Ben White coming in for Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney will play on the left.
In the centre, William Saliba will be back in place of Rob Holding and the Frenchman will have a huge role to play. The duo will need to ensure that the high line they play does not turn out to be a problem.
Thomas Partey is another player who can be expected to be back in the starting XI. The Ghanaian along with Granit Xhaka will be at the base of the midfield and look to protect the defence. The latter has been making a huge contribution at the attacking side of the pitch. If he can bring that on Sunday, it can make the game a whole lot more exciting.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli as the wingers will probably be the ones causing the most danger. The Brazilian is having a great season and his duel with Trent Alexander-Arnold could be one that decides the outcome of the match.
And the north Londoners also have Saka who is being quietly effective. At the top of this trio is the club captain Martin Odegaard whose ability to pick a pass is going to be crucial.
Leading the attack for Arsenal is Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus who has a decent record against the visitors. Beating Liverpool is not going to be easy but if the hosts can pull it off, that will be a big statement win.
