Arsenal return to action in the Premier League as they get ready to travel to Brentford on Sunday, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
After the win over Zurich, this will be the Gunners first match due to circumstances beyond their control. This gap would have given the players some extra time to recover, and that is a good thing.
Aaron Ramsdale will replace Matt Turner in goal. Arteta has a choice to make in terms of full backs as there is a chance that Takehiro Tomiyasu will be given a start. And on the other flank, we can expect to see Alex Zinchenko.
It is unlikely that the manager would want to change the combination of William Saliba and Gabriel who have done well together. They will have to be careful against the pressing and power that the Brentford forwards will bring.
In the centre of midfield, Albert Sambi Lokonga would once again see a starting spot due to the questions over the fitness of Thomas Partey. Even if the Ghanaian is fit, there is a good chance that Arteta will not risk a start. Along with the Belgian, it will be the dependable presence of Granit Xhaka.
Further forward, the north Londoners will be happy about the fact that Bukayo Saka has had some time to rest. The youngster will be on the right flank with Gabriel Martinelli on the left. Leading the trio will be club captain Martin Odegaard, who is coming into his own this season.
Leading the attack is star forward Gabriel Jesus who would want to get into scoring touch once again. The Brazilian has impressed with his movement, skill and pace and will be a real menace for the home defence.
Arsenal are still on top of the Premier League but need to get back to winning ways. This will also show that the defeat to Manchester United was just a blip. The players are capable of getting a win and Arteta will be confident of the three points.
