Arsenal Predicted Lineup

Arsenal travel across London on Wednesday to take on Brentford in what is going to be a tough game as the quest for a title becomes tougher and tougher. What kind of team will Mikel Arteta select for this game?

The Gunners had a relatively comfortable win over Ipswich Town on Friday, but this midweek fixture will be a much harder challenge. The Bees have been in great form, especially at home so a win is not going to be easy to come by.

David Raya will continue in goal as he comes up against his former club and would do well if he does end up getting a clean sheet. In defence, there could be a change as Riccardo Calafiori comes in for Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The Italian will partner Jurrien Timber as the full backs and the natural width they provide will be helpful. They will be supported by the pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel that will have their work cut out against the likes of Yoann Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo.

Thomas Partey should return in midfield as him and Declan Rice will provide the north Londoners with a little more protection in the middle. Martin Odegaard will start as the most advanced midfielder and his playmaking skills are needed particularly in the absence of Bukayo Saka.

In attack, Gabriel Martinelli should start as the right winger with Leandro Trossard on the left. The pace of the Brazilian and the skill of the Belgian should prove to be a problem for the hosts. The attack needs to step up as that has been a common problem this season and it should improve to give the team a shot at silverware.

Gabriel Jesus who seems to be rejuvenated in the last few games will start as the striker. The forward’s movement should prove to be a problem for the Bees and if he can find his scoring touch again, it bodes well for the Gunners.

Arsenal will know how tough Brentford are to beat so Arteta will set his team to be hard to break down. But the downside of that is that the attacking side of things can become a bit sterile. If enough chances are created, the visitors could leave happier of the two teams.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup Against Brentford (4-3-3):
