Ben White is reportedly on the brink of joining Arsenal after undergoing medical this weekend as per a report in Daily Mail.
After enjoying a productive debut season in the Premier League with Brighton & Hove Albion, the 23-year-old was rewarded with a call up to the England national squad for Euro 2020.
The defender made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Austria ahead of the competition but did not make any appearances in the Championship.
According to the report in Daily Mail, the Gunners are preparing to announce the third signing of the summer after the Englishman underwent medical during this weekend. The north London club had to go all out for the defender as the Seagulls were firm on their asking price. Mikel Arteta’s side had to make three offers before agreeing on a £50 million deal with the AMEX club.
However, Sky Sports Journalist Dharmesh Sheth has just confirmed that the defender will have his medical on Wednesday.

Arsenal Fever View:
Signing Ben White will take care of Arsenal’s defence for years to come. The defender has showcased his talent in the Premier League last season and will be hoping to carry on his form at the Emirates Stadium next season.
The 23-year-old has excellent composure on the ball and can play threading passes through the defensive lines. His attributes on the ball have helped him to play in multiple positions, including in midfield. He is very disciplined while defending and doesn’t commit early rash challenges.
The consequences of that, the Englishman has an impressive disciplinary record. He only picked up six bookings in the Championship with Leeds United(on loan), having been involved in 46 games in the 19/20 season and last season the defender only conceded three yellow cards and an unfortunate red card in 36 league appearances. The youngster also has a great fitness record and hardly ever misses a game for his club.
However, the £50 million price tag is way too high for a defender who is yet to deliver on the biggest stage of European football. Nevertheless, Arsenal needed a new centre-back following the departure of David Luiz and William Saliba’s loan move, and Ben White will be a very good addition to the Gunners’ defence.
