Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to secure the signature of Sami Khedira from Juventus, should they agree on a swap agreement involving Aaron Ramsey.
The Welshman has just six months remaining on his contract with the club and it appears certain that he would be leaving the Emirates in the near future with contract talks having reached a complete breakdown.
According to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri are planning to lure Ramsey to the Allianz Stadium as early as this month and they are prepared to offer Khedira in exchange to push through a swap deal.
The Old Lady have signed the likes of Khedira and Emre Can on Bosman contracts over the past few seasons but they appear keen on beating their European rivals by finalising a permanent deal for Ramsey within the winter period.
Despite this, there has been no indication from the Gunners end that they would entertain the prospect of a January exit and they seem prepared to take the loss on the Welshman, given the recent injury crisis which has restricted the attacking options available.
Meanwhile, the prospect of signing Khedira in exchange does not seem a worthwhile option for the Gunners, given the German has equally been frustrating with injury concerns which have pretty much hampered him throughout his career.
Ramsey featured for the entire 90 minutes during the recent 3-0 win over Blackpool in the FA Cup third round last weekend but he may drop to the bench when the Gunners make the trip across London to face West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
