As per a report from Sky Sports, Arsenal have submitted a second bid to secure the transfer of Norwich City star Emiliano Buendia.
The Argentine midfielder was the star of the Championship in 2020/21 as the Canaries confirmed their return to the Premier League. Hitting double digits in both goals and assists, the 24-year-old was named the league’s player of the season.
Sky Sports claim that the north Londoners are competing against Aston Villa to sign the player. They made an initial bid of £30million which was rejected by Norwich who value their star at £40million.
This has forced the Emirates club to try their luck again and this time, the bid launched is at £35million according to Sky Sports. The newly-promoted club are willing to sell their star player but are unwilling to change their position on the fee. There is interest from other clubs as well, with both Atletico Madrid and Valencia keen on a move.

If Buendia makes a move to north London, it would solve a problem that has plagued the Gunners all season. The lack of a creative presence really hurt them, especially in the first half of the campaign.
Things took a turn for the better once they brought in Emile Smith-Rowe and Martin Odegaard to provide the creativity. But the Norwegian who was on loan is set to return to Real Madrid, leaving a hole in the midfield.
Getting a player who contributed 14 goals and 16 assists in the Championship, would be a smart move. The Argentine has prior experience of playing in the Premier League as the midfielder was one of Norwich’s bright spots in the 2019/20 season.
At the Emirates, manager Mikel Arteta will be happy to make use of the playmaker’s versatility. He can slot in anywhere across the midfield and doesn’t forget his defensive duties which is a bonus in an attacker.
By making a second bid, Arsenal appear to be serious in their pursuit of Buendia. If it succeeds, it has the potential to be a great move.
