Arsenal keen on signing 12-goal Premier League star for £25m

Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs in the running to sign Spanish winger Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United during this summer’s transfer window.

The north London side have endured another frustrating season in the Premier League and they appear on course to miss out on the top four barring a miracle on the final gameweek.

As such, manager Unai Emery is likely to search for potential reinforcements and a winger could be one of the priorities with Danny Welbeck leaving on a free transfer while Denis Suarez has returned to Barcelona after a disappointing loan move.

According to FC Inter News,  Inter Milan are keeping a close watch on the proceedings of the former Tenerife graduate, who has been in sparkling form for the Magpies during the backend of the season.

However, the same publication suggests that the Gunners are also one of the main clubs interested in the 25-year-old forward, who has contributed 12 goals and four assists during the course of the current season.

Perez has been a key contributor for the Magpies over the past few seasons and he has certainly impressed during the backend of the current campaign where he has bagged 10 goals while impressing with his link-up play alongside Salomon Rondon.

In the same time, the likes of Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have not quite impressed with their wing play at Arsenal with their distribution and finishing in the final third often letting them down.

As such, Perez can be regarded as a quality signing for the Gunners with his strong finishing skills and tireless workrate on both ends of the field, and he should be affordable with the Magpies likely to command around £25m for his services.
