Arsenal have wrapped up a deal for Ben White, claims journalist

Ben White

Arsenal have reportedly wrapped up a transfer deal for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White, as per journalist Chris Wheatley.

After enjoying an excellent season with Graham Potter’s side the 23-year-old was called up to the England national squad for Euro 2020. But, the defender is yet to make an appearance for the Three Lions in the competition.

Replying to a question on Instagram, the journalist claimed that Ben White to Arsenal is all but complete and will be finalized after the defender’s involvement in Euro 2020. The Englishman is reportedly looking forward to play for the Emirates club.

This is what the Journalist posted:

“Deal is all but complete. Would expect it to be finalised after Euro 2020. White wants to join Arsenal.”

The Express claim that the north London club have already launched a bid of £50 million which matches the valuation of the Seagulls. Daily Mail report that Everton are also interested in the English youngster.

Arsenal Fever View:

Ben White will be an apt replacement for David Luiz at the Emirates Stadium. His versatility and composure on the ball has attracted Mikel Arteta’s attention. The defender has very good positional sense and also has the ability to read the game.

Meanwhile, having played in the back three during his debut campaign, adapting to playing in the back four could take time. Signing for the north London club will be a big step forward for the Brighton man and his mental perseverance will be tested in this situation.

On the other hand, following the arrival of Ben White, it will be interesting to see what happens to William Saliba. Having signed for the Emirates club two years ago, the highly-rated defender is yet to make his debut for the club.

Nevertheless, Ben White will certainly be a very good addition to the Gunners defence. After the departure of Luiz, Arsenal were short of right-footed centre-back’s and the Englishman’s arrival will solve that issue.
