Arsenal take on Leicester City today with plenty of speculation surrounding the star players, but manager Arsene Wenger has been given a major boost with regard to the availability of a key player – Mesut Ozil, as per ESPN.
The German international has taken part in training and is a strong possibility to feature against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
His presence is vital to a team which will be without Alexis Sanchez, who appears intent on securing a move away from the club before the end of this transfer window.
Aaron Ramsey had also been a huge doubt for the game, but the Welsh international also took part in training.
The news keeps getting better for Arsenal; the Gunners not only have some of the key players back for the game but also are expected to face an opposition significantly weakened by the absence of players like Vicente Iborra and Danny Drinkwater.
Iborra is one of the expensive summer acquisitions for Leicester, while Drinkwater has been linked with a move away from the club.
After the Community Shield success over Chelsea, Arsenal are on the way up. The club’s priority will be to get back into the Champions League, but doing a Manchester United and possibly winning Europa League might also be on the bucket list for Wenger.
Last season, Arsenal started the campaign with an opening day defeat and it set the tone for the rest of the campaign. Wenger will be hoping to have a much more positive start to the 2017-18 season.
