Arsenal fans react as Sead Kolasinac opens talks to terminate contract

Sead Kolasinac

According to a report from Turkish publication Fanatik, Fenerbahce are willing to sign Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer.

The Bosnian arrived from Schalke in the summer of 2017 and made an immediate impression. But with the signing of Kieran Tierney, he has found chances to be limited and was sent on loan during the second half of last season.

The report states that the Turkish giants have agreed on personal terms with Kolasinac in a move that will see him reunited with his close friend Mesut Ozil. Fener are not going to rush the transfer and are waiting on the outcome of the talks between the left-back and the English side.

Fanatik report that they want the north Londoners to cancel the Bosnian’s contract and let him go for free. This wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened as was the case with Sokratis in the past.

Once the news came out, Arsenal fans responded to it in a positive manner with many of them wanting the club to send the defender to Turkey. Here are some of the best reactions:

If the signing of Tierney wasn’t enough, now with the arrival of Nuno Tavares, there isn’t much of a chance for Kolasinac to play. It would be in the best interest of the Gunners if they got rid of the 28-year-old.

Getting this done as soon as possible will help the team look at other targets as the Bosnian has a significantly high salary. It is this kind of ruthlessness that is required from the north Londoners who are finding it difficult to sell some of their players.

Though a move with a cash component would have been nice, the Gunners need to think of the money that will be saved with the player off their books. Arsenal have been quite busy with the players that are coming into the club but not so much with those leaving. With the potential departure of Kolasinac, the north Londoners could be on their way to clear up some space in the squad.
