As per a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace are back in the hunt to take Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson on a loan deal.
The 21-year-old is a highly regarded talent but in the last couple of seasons has found chances to be limited. This was most evident during the 2020/21 campaign as the Englishman only played nine games in total.
According to the report, former Gunners legend Patrick Vieira who has become the new manager of Palace is keen on taking the youngster away from the Emirates. The south Londoners have been very active this summer and just signed Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea. They now want to add Nelson to their ranks.
Palace have let go of Andros Townsend in this window and are on the lookout for another winger. This is where the 21-year-old fits in and he is considered to be at the top of Vieira’s wish list, state The Sun.
Gunners fans were happy with this news as they would see one of the club’s bright young talents join an Arsenal legend. They expressed this on Twitter and here are some of the best reactions:
Loan + contract extension makes a lot of sense and would love to see him at palace

I hope Vieira is a success at CP, because he was a great player for us but also because it may help Arsenal long term too. He might become a manager for us, and he can help give our younger players minutes in the prem.

Arsenal managers should give Nelson that chance coz Viera himself is an Arsenal legend and he will be able to really give Nelson the chances he deserves

Arsenal Fever View
It is good that Nelson is being sent on loan as the youngster is at an age where he needs to be playing regularly. At the Emirates, that is not going to be possible due to the presence of players such as Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka among others.
The winger has two years left on his contract so this move to Palace has the potential to shape the next few years of his career. If this spell under Vieira goes well, there is every chance that the Eagles would want to take him on a permanent deal. At the very least, the 21-year-old will get more of a chance to prove himself.
Arsenal should start working more on those that could leave the club as it will help their transfer business. Nelson is a player with a lot of potential but chances are going to be limited at the Emirates. He would be much better served with a spell at Selhurst Park.
