Matteo Guendouzi made his debut for the France national team on Tuesday following an impressive loan spell at Olympique de Marseille and some Arsenal fans feel the youngster deserves another chance at north London.
The 22-year-old joined the Gunners in 2018 and amassed 82 appearances but after falling out with Mikel Arteta, the youngster was shipped out on loan to Marseille. He has been on top of his game this term, making 6-goal contributions in just 17 appearances and has played a crucial role in the club’s excellent run of games.
Guendouzi’s hard work did not go unnoticed as he was rewarded with a call up to the national team. Having already secured a spot in the FIFA World Cup next year, Didie Deschamps had the perfect chance to rotate his squad for the game against Finland on Tuesday night.
The Arsenal loanee was a beneficiary of this as he came off the bench to earn his maiden cap for France. He made the most of this opportunity and had a pretty decent outing.
Guendouzi is under a contract with Arsenal until 2023, but has a purchase option in his current loan deal with OM. If he continues to play in this fashion for the remainder of this season, it is likely that they sign him on a permanent basis next summer.
Arsenal fans were full of praise for the youngster and some of them would love to see him don the red and white again. These are some of the reactions from Twitter:

Arsenal Fever View:
Guendouzi is a type of player that wears his heart on his sleeves. After that scuffle during the Brighton game last season, he was completely frozen out of the squad. He also had to train with other youngsters at London Colney and wasn’t afforded a chance to work his way back to Arteta’s squad.
This is a shame because the youngster looked like a long-term solution to the Gunners’ midfield problems under Unai Emery. He was considered a mainstay in the team’s midfield, but the events have panned out in a different way.
It is sensible if Arsenal sell him while his market value is on the rise. Arteta’s squad is much improved this year, with promising youngsters like Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard.
