Arsenal fans full of praise for Aaron Ramsdale after Crystal Palace draw

Ramsdale Arsenal

Aaron Ramsdale has caught the eye of many Arsenal fans with yet another impressive display between the sticks against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Gunners got off to a perfect start when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring with a close-range volley in the eighth minute of the game. Nicolas Pepe’s curling effort was tipped wide by Vincente Guaita, which fell kindly to the club captain.

Despite securing an early lead, the hosts were utterly dominated by Palace for the rest of the half. They nearly equalized through an effort from Conor Gallagher, who was denied spectacularly by Ramsdale. However, there was no denying Benteke five minutes into the second half.

The north London club were punished again when Albert Sambi Lokonga was caught in possession. Odsonne Edouard finished a swift counter-attack move to complete the turnaround. Alexandre Lacazette scored a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time, extending the team’s unbeaten run to five league games.

On an evening of underwhelming performances from the majority of the team, Ramsdale stood out with a stellar display. He made some great saves and his distribution throughout the game was on point.

The Englishman was also vocal at the back, constantly talking with the defenders to keep a solid defensive shape. He was certainly the team’s best player this game.

Arsenal Fever View:

Many Arsenal fans were skeptical about signing Ramsdale but the England international has turned it around quickly. He’s had an excellent start to life at north London, having kept four consecutive clean sheets in his first four appearances for the club. Apart from incredible reflexes, he is also very good with his feet.

The 23-year-old’s ability to play out from the back suits Mikel Arteta’s philosophies perfectly. He has established himself as the main man between the sticks. He is still young with plenty of years ahead of him. This signing is proving to be an incredible piece of business by the Gunners.

The hard-earned point against Palace sees Arsenal move up to 12th place in the Premier League. The games are coming thick and fast, as they face Aston Villa at the Emirates in three days. Arteta and his men will be determined to extend their unbeaten run with a win on Friday.
